Ragtime: A Tapestry of American Spirit

Ragtime is more than just catchy tunes. It's the vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of European musical notation, the infectious rhythms brought from Congo Square by enslaved Africans, and the soulful melodies of post-Civil War working-class America.

Ragtime exists because free men and women of all races and backgrounds were finally able to work together, share their songs & stories, and create something entirely new. It's the musical embodiment of the American spirit – a beautiful blend of diverse cultures coming together in harmony.

These are stories that deserve to be told, and their music to be heard.
